Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
My recently acquired 2007 Transporter 4 runs good and seems to charge ok, but the battery state indicator stays on all the time. I'm referring to the bar graph looking light, not the one that looks like a battery. Is it supposed to always be lit even when key is off or the run/tow switched to tow?

Re: Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
Unless the battery pack voltage is low the OBC may need a reset?

Re: Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
I had the batteries disconnected last night for about half hour. Would that have reset the OBC? I haven't checked the pack voltage yet, but the indicator is always at the "full" mark. Cart runs like it's got a full charge.

Yes - 30 minute disconnect should have reset the OBC. Battery indicator? if it is not a digital readout be wary of such indicators, many simply reset to 'full' regardless of the charge results.

Re: Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
Thanks for the reply Scottyb. I think it's digital. Its wired straight from the dash harness so I think it's original. Here's a pic. Shouldn't putting the Run/Tow switch in the Tow position cut off all power? Is there that done via a solenoid?

Re: Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
You need to look at the back of the meter, if it has 3 or 4 terminals, the one marked "C" needs to be connected to the key switch so the display is only visible when the key switch is ON.

That LED but not a digital readout. A digital meter is actually a voltmeter which you can compare against a state of charge chart.

Yep, just wired wrong for your application. Indicator will go either way, off with key or always on depending on the way it is wired.

Re: Battery Status Indicator Always Lit
It's an IQ Plus car. That's how they're wired from the factory. The only way to get it to turn off is to unhook the battery pack.
