Part identification?????

This is mounted on the inside frame rail on the drivers side. One end comes from the controller and the other end is connected to the brass terminal (in pics). Dont know what it is??? Is it voltage reducer or something else to do with hooking up lights and extras??? Im pretty lost on all the golf cart electrical.....thank you for yalls time!

If memory serves, it's a stock 16v. to 12v. reducer.

Yep. 16V to 12V Reducer. It uses the two batteries on the driver's side to reduce the power and allow you to run 12 volt accessories. The voltage is reduced via the negative side of the circuit.

Thanks!!!! Now, is this the correct way for it to be hooked up?? How is it getting power from the batteries?? I only see it coming from the controller and stopping at the brass terminal?? Thank you!!!

Everything in the pictures appears to be correct. It's getting power from the negative side of the circuit via the B- post of the controller. That's the same as hooking it to the main negative post of the battery pack.

Ok....so in order to hook up the factory lights, do I run the lights from the brass terminal to the main positive? Sorry for being so naive. ....just horrible at electrical!! Thank you for your time!!

No. In order to get 12 volts you would hook the positive feed for your lights to the positive post of battery #5 (Battery #1 being the most positive and Battery #6 being the most negative). Battery #5 would be the forward-most battery on the driver's side, right next to the main negative battery (battery#6). The negative feed for your lights would plug into the terminal block that is riveted to the body support right next to where your positive lead will go.
