The 670 horizontal shaft is in stock in local stores here in Texas and $70 off down to $830. I wonder if they are going to eventually get the 670 vertical shaft for mowers? I replaced a Kohler with one and love it so far. Much quieter.

That was the 708 which I understand was a kawasaki copy. That has been gone for a while. I wonder if it was a patent issue or just the sales weren't there. The single cylinder vertical shaft engine is also gone. Again I wonder of the volume wasn't what was needed. BUT the old saying is "stay tuned". I see the 670 is even gone from philly that had them in stock on 2/21. With that sale I guess people waiting jumped on them when they returned to being in stock.

I just happened to catch that Red Beard did a 625 cc billet rod build about a month ago on youtube. He used the VC billet rod with the 212 inner valve springs and a 34 mm mikuni. He says more to come.

On youtube a guy swapped in one of the new HF 459's into an Arians 1336 snow blower. He makes all kinds of piles of snow for this creation to chew thru. Gotta love the hot rodder mentality many youtubers have On the 670 's local stock is gone BUT Philly still has some.

I had actually given up on finding a 670 and went to harbor freight to look at the 459 they had. Low and behold they had just received a 670 that was not listed on the website inventory.
Now it's time to get fabbing or just order a vegas carts kit

Wow Just looked on his video. Probably not good for a golf cart but it shows the importers are expanding their markets. There is a rumor on another site that HF will have a larger replacement for the 670 as they did with the 212 and 420's. As the saying goes stay tuned.

Watched redbeard last nite and his tone was different on the 459. He originally thought the billet connecting rod was weeks away and now he doesn't know when. The stock rod looks really weak for high rpm usage. So as it sits the 459 is not going to work for ungoverned use. Too Bad. It had a lot going for it BUT like the VC 625 without a billet connecting rod it will fail with high rpm use. A good solution for this would have been swapping in the VC long rod/milled piston combo BUT ALAS it looks like Geoff isn't going to produce it anymore

Just saw HF670 in stock locally (Texas) for the new price of $949.99. Not a cheap swap anymore lol, should have pulled the trigger when they were selling for under 600 pre pandemic.
