I am going to go with an on/off switch and starter button to eliminate hassles.

Turboaz2,

Can you help me out with taking a look at my thread in big block talk? (Newbie). Im looking at this wiring schematic and I have to be missing something. Im wanting to bench test this thing before I drop it in to make sure it works. Not sure what im not doing right

Can you not just extend the wires on the ignition switch? Any of the BB conversions I have done, I just pull the switch off the engine, and splice long wire extensions in so it works off the key....

It's possible, but that switch is not waterproof. and then anyone with a screwdriver can start it.

Down to personal preference. On my hunting cart, I reused the horn button as a starter button and used a toggle switch to shut it off. No need for a key there.

But in a populated area, I prefer having a key, and it keeps my kids out of trouble.
