fuel solenoid
i have a 23 hp briggs big block and i keep filling the crankcase with gas while my cart is sitting i have taken fuel solenoid on bottom of fuel bowl three times and it is stuck on iwashed it out good with carb cleaner and wd40 and get it working again but then it happens again i priced a new solenoid and it is $145 gas seems to be siphoning thru. Any body have any ideas

Check and reset your float? Check your float needle? Check for dirt and debris?
The electronic part you are describing is an "anti backfire solenoid" used to shut fuel off to prevent the famous "Briggs Backfire" after you shut the engine off. I can tell you this, I've disabled at least 5 of those on engines I've run and never had a fuel issue filling my crankcase. |

I have this solenoid on my 18hp Briggs
The electrical has been cut off and I rarely have a back fire.......helps to adjust the idle way down |
