Default Robin EH29C 38015015 swap

Sorry i am not technically savvy but i will try to explain the best i can. So my Ezgo TXT unlifted gas 4 stroke, 9 HP serial # 2112566, jumped time and i live in a small town where i cant find anyone to rebuild the engine for me within the time frame i have so i was wondering what kind/type/model of a new engine swap i should use for now so i can get it back on the road by early September for Bluegrass festival here in south central Kansas. What year could this cart be as well, i dont know? Thanks for any ideas and God bless.

One idea is to call Vegascarts @904-990-1990 and see what options they offer for your cart.

The rebuild would be easier and faster. Doesn't take long to pull the engine and you are gonna have to do that anyway for a replacement. Did the head lock up? If so, then yeah, replacement may be most appropriate, but if it is still turning freely, replace the timing belt and put it back together. It could be done in a day, and no more than a week for someone new to working on them. If you have the skills to do a big block swap, you have what you need to fix the existing engine, unless there is catastrophic damage, and even in that case, you may be able to find the parts online for less than a big block swap.

It broke some rods and the head gasket is toast plus both pistons were dinged. The motor is already pulled out and broke down is how we found out. My friend who broke it down told me I could buy a rebuilt kit but he's busy doing other projects. I thought it would be easier to get a brand new motor and then the old one rebuilt later and use it as a back up.

A full engine swap kit will cost you upwards of $2000 or more with the engine. If money is no object that would be your quickest route to success.

You can buy a cheap engine online or at Harbor Freight but you'll have to fabricate an engine mount plate, buy a primary clutch, do some wiring, not a quick easy job for a novice mechanic.

Short time frames make it tougher, some parts may take a few days to order, some a few weeks. I'm not saying it can't be done in time for your festival, I'm just saying it would be tough.

If your engine had broken parts inside, it will likely need to go to a machine shop to clean it up. If the engine block was severely damaged it might need replaced. There's a place in Appling, GA called Motors and More. Might give them a call.
