Default Yamaha drive 2 not working after installing Allied 105ah battery

2018 Yamaha Drive 2. Installed the allied lithium 105ah battery this weekend along with the on board charger and HD solenoid. I get nothing from the solenoid when pressing the throttle and can’t figure it out. Battery is fully charged (53.xx volts). Stock motor and controller.

On the solenoid I get full voltage on the battery side and on both the small terminals. On the side going to the controller I get no voltage, even when depressing the throttle. Key switch powers up, lights work, etc. Pulling my hair out here trying to see what I forgot. The installation videos for these are nonexistent. Any thoughts or things to check?

Often, the problem is the onboard charger. You need to disable the charger interlock if there is one. Look at your cart's wiring diagram and see if there is a charger interlock. The purpose of that is to prevent the cart from running if the charger cord is plugged in. You need to bypass that or disable it if you installed an onboard charger for your Lithium battery.

Thanks for the info. So at the old charging connection there were 3 cables. Positive, negative and I assume the small gray/white wire acting as the lockout. I plugged in the old charger port to the battery the gray wire like it was. That should have completed the circuit on the interlock and still nothing. I tried the old solenoid and nothing.

Does anyone have a picture of their solenoid wiring? Originally on the wire connected to the battery positive from the solenoid there was a little jumper wire with what looked like a relay or maybe a resistor. Didn’t see where that was hooked but I assumed it was on the controller side of the solenoid main post.

I’ve tried wiring this thing 10 different ways and still come up with nothing. Stuck with 53v to the b+ side and 2 small terminals on the solenoid. Nothing on the controller side of the solenoid. I’ve seen pictures of other Yamaha drive 2 carts wired different ways and I can’t get any of them to work. Tried 3 different solenoids. If anyone has any ideas on what I can test it’s greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it's locked out? You have power everywhere but go pedal. Look into resetting it.

Also in the past the Hitachi motors were bad about brushes not working g as they should, burning up faster than other motors. Have replaced 3 to 1 Hitachi brushes and plates vs others.
