Default solenoid killer

hello people ive got a 96 club car that is killing solenoids i just got a brand new solenoid and when i swapped out the bad one the new one worked twice and then it died. now when i push the accelerator the solenoid clidks but goes nowhere(just like the old one). Any ideas what might be killing my solenoid?

any ideas much appreciated

It sounds like a wiring issue, check your wiring with the stickies above...

Is there a diode and resister on the solenoid? If They are missing or bad it will cause a solenoid to burn out!

are they golf cart solenoids, ? or did you get them from the auto part store??

Thanks everyone

There was no diode or resistor on the old one I had this cart a year before having any issues. The wife hit her car while backing up and ever since the solenoid only clicked. Now my new one is dead. Ill check the wiring this weekend. Provided I don't have to work.

I love the sight great amount of info and ideas. I think ill stick around.

Rib I put the exact same solenoid that was in there. White Rodgers 536120yadayada
