Default Got a strange one. G22 runs without key.

Most bizarre thing I've seen recently. I have a g22 that use to run good. I stretched it, the key switch and pedal micro wires. Made sure they are all hooked back up correctly. Well now when I press the pedal down and let up, it idles for as long as it wants to. I can even take the key out and it stays idling. It will drive with the key out until it decides to quit idling, then it will need the key turned on to start again. I pulled the harness apart and retraced all of the wires. They appear right. Does this sound like a bad microswitch at the pedal? Thanks

It could be a simple as a disconnected wire. The engine will run on its own meaning that the ignition is self sufficient. It doesn't need a power source to make it work. What kills the engine spark is a wire leading from the engine to a relay in the black box next to the battery. The gas pedal micro switch activates the relay to release the ground kill allowing the ignition to work. When the pedal is released the relay deactivates and grounds the ignition to kill it. If the wire leading to the relay from the engine is broken or disconnected the engine will continue to run even with the key off.

Thanks! You are right thats what it was. I found a small broken ground wire going to the engine. When I put the lift kit on it must have pulled the wire and broken it.
