Default Cleaning Engine Compartment

What is a good and easy way to clean the engine compartment. Very dirty, mostly dust.

Steam is always the most thorough and fastest/easiest, but a pressure washer will do the trick too as long as You cover the intake and let the cart COMPLETELY dry out before running it ... I blast the carts after every dirty day or night of riding and have never had an issue.

If it gets REALLY gunky I'll also blast it to get the worst off then spray it all down with Simple Green, give it 10min to work then blast it all again - really helps loosen up the stubborn poop

What I do is similar to what BrewCityMusic does. I spray down a cool engine and compartment area with Simple Green, let it set for a few minutes, and then hose it down with a water hose and spray nozzle. Then I take an air hose and blow it all off. It always comes out clean and much improved.

Clean it really good with pressure washer/soap/etc. Don't blast ignition parts, or dry them good.

Cheat is spray it with that tire protectant once it is very clean and dry, the type that dries up but still looks a little wet. After that most of the dust/dirt will come off easy with just a garden hose spray. All dust where I ride and been doing that for years with tires and engine.

If its really dirty/oily that engine cleaner in a spray can may do you wonders.
