The taper used by ezgo is called a 110 taper, I know briggs makes engines with this taper. I can only guess that honda does also. This is not the same as what is called a generator taper which is more common.
I know it is possible to have the ezgo clutch machined to fit big straight shaft engines.

Post Re: Honda Engine Replacement

I need some input please. I'm not looking to go fast, just want a reliable good running engine. Should I rebuild my 295cc or go to a briggs or honda replacement? All kind help will be greatly appreciated. My 295 needs to be rebuilt low compression.

It would be 3 times the cost and 4 times the work, to install a honda or briggs vs a stock replacement 295.
There are shops that will sell you a rebuilt 295 with a 90 day warranty for some where in the $500 range depending on your core and maybe shipping depending on where you live.
One place in Augusta GA.

Go with a V-Twin and get it over with. You won't regret it.
