1976 harley davidson model d???
I believe I have a 1976 harley davidson model d. Someone unhooked the throttle cable. It is hanging with the end threaded not sure if I'm missing part of the bracket or how it attaches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any ideas on where to get a manual would be great also. Thank you

Re: 1976 harley davidson model d???
The cable just goes through a hole in the throttle arm and then has a stop screwed onto it. The spring is set so with no cables the throttle goes to full open. It takes either the pedal or governor to pull it shut. If the gov is relaxed and you step on the pedal that allows the throttle to spring open. If the gov decides its going too fast it pulls it in the closed direction. Basically since neither cable is firmly attached the slower input wins.

The cable is hooked to the carb. It's not hooked underneath to the pedal and I dont see anywhere it can hook to
