Default Harley Davidson Golf Cart Parts

My mechanic says theres too much play in the clutch, that it is loose. He cannot find replacement parts. As I've read, I believe it to be a 1982 w/a 5K 11688 J2 as the serial #. The brakes are crumbled and cannot find replacement either. His plan it to modify and use a snowmobile caliper style work around. Any better suggestions?

I have never owned a harley but I know that parts are still out there. Check with some of the sponsors of this site. If no luck go to vintagegolfcartparts ! Hope this helps.

If it is an 1982, the caliper and brake linings are on Ebay.

I used the parts manual on this forum and searched the parts. I was able to find all the parts to repair both clutches. Brake parts were also there when I searched by part number out of the parts manual.

I'm sorry to be so helpless, but where do I find the parts manual for the model I'm looking for. I tried a couple of searches on this site. I'm not familiar w/help forums. Thank you for your help.

Sorry to be so naive, but can anyone point me in the direction to obtain parts?
My mechanic needs parts for brakes and the rearend, I have a list I could email of what he is needing if I knew of a 'one stop' shopping. Thanks.

vintagegolfcartparts.com is the only place that would be even close to "one stop shopping."

Understand, there are a ton of golf cart parts suppliers out there. Some are big and some are small. As your cart is 34 years old not every supplier carries every part so one stop shopping often isn't possible. You may have to do a bit of searching to find a part and, keep in mind, prices differ radically from place to place.

Really, Google is your friend with this stuff. Backyard posted link the the service manual and parts manual. Print these and get them to your mechanic. Once your mechanic knows what is needed (sounds like he might already know) it's best to get the part number out of the parts manual and Google it. You'll get some results.

Regarding the clutches, there are two of them on your cart: The primary that is attached to the engine and the secondary which is attached to the rear end. You will need to know which one is having issues. It's my experience that the secondary clutches go bad way more often than the primaries. For the most part, clutches on your era cart are not repairable and must be replaced.
