Rack Ball Joint/steering
I searched this to no avail. I have a 2003 txt lifted....short story...im trying to tighten up the steering. It has a little wiggle to it which seems to come from the intermediate shaft and some from the steering rack (that comes out of the housing) where it attaches to the rack extension. Its minimal, but its there. There doesn't seem to be any play inside the steering housing..so im good there. Normal?
Now, when I was checking all this out I noticed that the rack ball joint was loose...how tight should this castellated nut be (35lbs?) (it was finger loose) and does the grease boot "fill" like a balloon or is it just a "cup" that holds the grease? I greased it and it just came out the side like nothing was holding it in. Thanks RR |
