Yes I hooked up the sound bar to the black and red 12v output wires. I capped the orange wire. The sound bar is also wired to a 12v switch for on off.

If You completely disconnect the White wire from the key Switch, do you still have +12v to the Sound Bar?

If so, measure the voltage in each side of the Key switch with the key in the OFF position as you may have voltage back-feeding the switch.

Yes I completely disconnected the white wire and the bar still had power. I will retest both wires on the ignition yet again but I was getting 0v on the one I hooked up to and was getting voltage on the other wire.

If You have completely disconnected the White wire than the Key Switch is not your problem.

Either you have mixed Red and Orange colors or You do not have the same Converter from DPI that was referenced in this thread where the colors wires are described.

Do You also have a constant +12v on the "orange" wire that is capped?

You sir were right. In my instance the red is constant 12v. I swapped over to orange and bam good as new
