Default Intermittent Start

I just purchased a 92 Club Car. When cold it starts right up, as it warms up the starter doesn't kick in all the time. I hear the solenoid clicking but the starter doesn't seem to engage every time. It seems the more I use the cart the more frequently it won't start. After hitting the gas pedal 10 or 15 (or more sometimes) times the starter will eventually kick in. I see a lot ofreferences to the brushes in the Forum. Is this where I should start?
