Exclamation Switching lights from battery pack to stand alone battery question

Hey guys, I plan on switching my lights from my battery pack to a 12v battery for all the accessories I plan on adding. The problem is that I am not real sure how to do this. I included a pic with wires that I labeled. Any help would be nice. I assume I will be moving the ground wire to the (-) of the accessory battery, but I'm not real sure what to do with the double twisted black and red wires. Thanks for any help y'all can provide!

take all the wires that go to your lights, both +(power) and - (ground), and connect them to the aux. battery's + (power) and - (ground) and you are set. IF you are going to be adding other things, the easiest way to make a clean install would be to get a small fuse block. Then have one + (power) and one - (ground) wire going to the fuse block and then attach the power and ground for each acc.

Check the voltage on your lights.

Looks like you are only tapping the pack for 6V.

I am going to get the 12v battery today and switch it over. I will post pics later to see if I did that correctly. Oh and JohnnieB what wires need to be moved to make a 12v connection?

Either move the Black wire to the NEG post of the Left-Front battery or move the Red wire to the POS post on the Right Front battery.

You have to go across two 6V batteries to get 12V.

The only red wire I could find is running to the light switch. I can't find which red wire is pulling power from the pack for the lights. Newbie here if you can't tell...

Sorry. I was referring to the twisted red wires going to what I suspect is the light switch. It continues after the switch as a black wire with a butt-splice in the middle and that you labeled as "Ground Wire" in the picture, which it is not. It is the B+ source for the light switch.

And the twisted black wires are hooked to the positive of the other battery! Your lights aren't actually working hooked up like this, are they?

Well after carefull examination last night, and a few bruskies, I have come to the conclusion that who ever did this light install was not an expert. My dad bought this cart from a cart dealer north of houston with the lights installed. There was no 36v to 12v converter on it and the negative wires are running to a positive post! I have fixed the problem and thanks guys for your help on this!
