F-N-R switch replacement
Looking at replacing and relocating the FNR from by my knee to the dash. Want something that dont stand out from rest of switches so can someone tell me the voltage that goes through it. Is it 12v or 48v? Need to order switch tonight and not where cart is. Trying to get a lighted switch, know theres not enough amperage to worry about but I need to know the voltage. Thanks
Sorry, its an 05 Precedent Last edited by aauman; 10-04-2011 at 08:12 PM.. Reason: more info |

Re: F-N-R switch replacement
You can use the same switch for the dash. You don't have to use the housing the switch snaps into. Look at your switch itself, pry it up out of the housing with a screwdriver carefully. It will have three wires attached. You can run those three wires into your dash faceplate and well as cut a hole to push your existing switch into the dash

Re: F-N-R switch replacement
Thanks for your reply, I understand I can reuse it but I am installing a new dash and all new switches and I want to get a lighted rocker switch for it that matches the other switches going in my dash. I need to get it ordered and I am out of town. My cart is at home and I was going to do the change this weekend or I could get the voltage myself.
I just need the voltage for the switch or is there no voltage and just contact closure? |

Re: F-N-R switch replacement
Should be 48 volts at the F&R switch, I believe the Red wire which connects to the Fuse.

Re: F-N-R switch replacement
Thanks guys, I guess there's not much chance of finding a 48v lighted switch! I wonder how long a 12v one would last with 48v. Although I could put a 12v switch controlling 48v with relay but that may just be asking for trouble!
