Foam ear plug and a piece of 55mph tape.

The holes on the FNR switch need to be plugged off. Use those foam ear plugs pggroves mentioned. Still not quiet enough for me so I'm thinking about poking a sharp object in there or pressing the muzzle of my Glock there squeezing off a round!!
Be advised though that this obnoxious, irritating tone is a safety feature.

Does the F/R switch unscrew out or do you have to take out the rivets and pop the plate that holds it off? If that done work will my P345 do it? I dont have a Glock yet ( thats my next purchase)...

I have not had any reason to remove the FNR switch but when I do (and maybe before) I intend to add a remote switch so that the noise can be either ON or OFF depending on who is using the cart.

No! The P345 is too large a caliber. You're looking for something in the order of a 30 cal. The slug needs to slip through that hole...don't want to damage the F/R switch!

Ok, the procedure for my 88 Marathon..... Remove the F/R handle. Loosen the two mounting bolts then pivot the F/R switch out to access the backside and the hole in the speaker. I didn't remove/disconnect any wires. Install foam hearing plug, or other garage gumbo in hole.
I was thinking the beeper was mounted behind and facing one of those holes in the switch plate and was stuffing the foam hearing protector in them.

On further inspection, even a 30 caliber is too big!
