Yea he looks like he needs some help, don;t think he;s been hit I get alot of road kill and doesn't take much to kill a deer when a 3,000 car hits them. Alot of them I get only have 1 or 2 broken ribs. Their bones are more like a pig than a cow so can't belive he's been hit. He might have been seperated from his mom and just felt lonely not eatting for awhile.

Is that the same deer Robow ?
The first pic realy makes the hump look huge
on the seconed picture it doesn't appear to be as big ...
Maybe the angle... dunno
He could for sure use more food .
Fatin that boy up, and he'll be a nice shooter in a year or two
if he makes it that long with out someone dropping him
before he can get to his full potintial .

I have let quite a few walk before only to let them get
realy nice and wide . If you take care of them year round
by suppplemental feedings , you can and will have a very nice herd.
Cull the weak and cow horn spikes if they dont seem to be turning
into better deer in a few years and you'll have a good herd and above all
healthy .

On my lease, we dont shoot "ANY" spikes unless they are injured
or turn to cow horns within a few years.
We are not a QDM lease but we do try to take care of them as best as we can. This insures a good healthy population we try to keep the doe to buck
ratio in good order, and will try to take only younger does but not all .
20 to 30 years ago this practice was not done to much.
But its realy proved it works over and over again .
It all depends on the men hunting and what you would like to have
on your lease you pay yearly on to Hunt.

I know what you mean about finding a kid to program something for you. I got to get a 12 year old to program my MP3 player for me. Go figure.

This camera is a Moultrie SpyCam 200, 3.1 MP camera. It's been a good camera for the last 3 years and it's pretty easy to use. Best part is you dont need to take a loan to buy it.

I dont have any buck pictures yet from this year but when I do I will post them.

Yeah it's the same deer. I think it's the angle of the sun.

You are right maybe a year our two and he'll be a shooter. We haven't joined a QDM branch yet but we have similar rules. One exception we have is letting someone that has never killed a buck take most any buck.

I'd say since some spikes do get better racks as they age a "cow horn spike" would be a two or three year old that is still just a spike just a little wider...like a cow......but Im only guessing since I have never heard that term
