Re: Anyone Getting your Gobblers yet ???
Sure looks like a Wolf to me
30 inches to the shoulder makes it even more to the thinking Wolf. Are there a lot around your area ? are they getting any live stock ? BCW |

Re: Anyone Getting your Gobblers yet ???
This is the first one I've seen up close....I have seen what I thought was "wild dogs" while deer hunting before but never been this close.
That stare he shot me when i yelled told me right quick he didn't feel threatened at all but in the end I think he changed his mind. I've been here 5 yrs and never lost any livestock and we hear coyotes all the time but last summer I lost my watch dog to the speed demons on our road so I guess I need to start looking for another. |

We have a pile of yotes here also their getting neighbors dogs, cats, and small calves. Its time to do some thinning I think. I also suspect they are responcible for the Turkeys getting gone Down here if they are killing live stock/ pets we have a obigation to take em out of way . Who's to say, a kid could be next and that my friend would not set well around here or any where !!!!!!!!! BCW |

Re: Anyone Getting your Gobblers yet ???
Last summer we had a coyote jump into our back yard, over a 6 ft. Concrete wall. We live in a neighborhood, but it's bordered by desert. I think it was after my little Boston. It caught the attention of our big Golden Ret. when it landed on one of my old carts and he chased it out of the yard. When Tom looked out it was running along the top of the block wall. Good thing Buddy was there or my Doodle Bug would be long gone by now. I hate coyotes. Always have, always will. Worthless as roaches and pigeons.

Re: Anyone Getting your Gobblers yet ???
The leafy plants are rape. There is also red clover mixed in with it. The pic is taken on an 8 acre field completely surrounded by planted pine. There is a creek bottom to the west and approx. 500 acre row crop field about 300 yards through the trees to east. I call this my honey hole. There are several oaks around field border and wild persimmon trees mixed in.
Deer seem to be relaxed when they enter this field. I have two tower stands built, one for morning, one for evening(sun location). I see deer practically every time I hunt it. Have harvested a couple of nice 8ptr off it, and my brother got a real nice 12ptr and I have taken many meat deer. |

I would say that anyone would call this setup a HONEY HOLE.
Great description...I almost feel like I'm there but not quite so could you send me a map? |

Re: Anyone Getting your Gobblers yet ???
Sorry, land is unmappable. Even Google Earth gets real fuzzy at this location. Maybe its the secret underground Army installation there. LOL. Of the 8 acres I usually plant about 3-4 in fall planting. This year trying some peanuts, soybean and sunflower for summer attraction.
