Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
I started with cardboard.
Fabricated the the mount from the cardboard template. The entire assembly bolts to the carts frame. |

Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
Now thats a sweet lookin winch and bracket.
I like the heck out of that ... Did you pre fab the bracket or did it come with the winch ? How much pull is the winch ? , the one in the link I posted is 3000 , should this be enough for the cart of mine ? I realy like the way yours sets back in and out of the way BCW |

Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
My set up is pretty much how ezgo does it, it's also a 2000lb winch. The only difference in what I have done vs a factory one is the control switch, I have a hand held controller and the factory ones mount a switch in the dash. I did flip the front receiver plate over when I moved the axle under the springs.

Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
I've thought about the same thing I found a winch at SAM'S that was about that same price I was looking at mounting like ruredy just in case I needed it in the back. I was thinking I could store it in the bag well beside the cooler.

Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
I have a Champion 2500 that I got at Sams on sale for somewhere around 60-80 dollars, I cant remember...
I used a peice of angle iron, and used a small trailer hitch mount to hold it on. Instead of using the cheap solinoid that came with it, I got one from Advanced made for a 71 Ford. Its alot more reliable than that cheap stuff you get with it. I wired it all under the hood so if I want to take it all off all I need to do it unplug on plug and remove it from the hitch, instead of unhooking 3 or 4 wires. I have used the winch about 10 times now. Ive only need to it get out of rough spot twice, but you would be suprised how many uses it can serve! EDIT: This the winch I got- http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=370238 |

Re: Any one Have a Winch on your Cart
Thanks Y 4 life
The pictures help me get an idea as to how I want to mount mine when I do get one . Im deffinetly going to have to have one on my cart and Hope when I do need to use it I have someone with me to hook it to a tree or something to get out with... Im a amputee (left leg) and cant wear a prostetic although I have one Due to sevier nerve damage in the stump... But believe me , I can get alot done on my own when pressed . The first post by me in the thread here, Do you all think that a 3000 # rateing is a over kill on the winch for my cart ? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=91781 This one at Habor Freight is $89.00 I realy like all of your mounting ways each of y'all have Let me also ask this before I forget, These are 12 volt winches... Did any of you run a seperate battery just for the winch and off road lights, is this a practical way to get this done? and just keep the 12 volt charged ..... Im not a electricin so wiering it in any other way Im lost . Thank all of you for your help on this I sincerely appreciate it all . BCW |
