G22 running good, and then just quit
I have a 2003 Yamaha G22 that was running really good and fast, and all of a sudden it just quit while I was on the course. I checked the battery cables and even replaced one, but still nothing. I had it towed to the cart shed and plugged in the charger and nothing happened at all! No lights...nothing! I have had some battery problems but since the cart ran so good I was waiting for it to die the slow battery death before I replaced them. However, if charged daily, it ran really well for 27 holes. The reverse signal is strong. What's the culprit here?

Re: G22 running good, and then just quit
A quick shut down is sometimes caused by a bad solenoid. Jump the 2 large posts with a 6ga wire, if the cart moves, replace the solenoid.
Hope you put the cart in the tow mode to tow it back to the shed. Don't forget to put it back in run to try and use the cart. |

Also, Doug, would a bad solenoid keep the cart from charging?

No but a bad fuse could be a problem.

I don't know where you can get a service manual other than the Yamaha site: http://www.yamahagolfcar.com/partsan...e/default.aspx
Here is a wiring diagram with the 300 amp controller: http://www.fsip.biz/Documents/YAMAHA...28FX302%29.pdf |

Re: G22 running good, and then just quit
Thanks, Doug....I downloaded the wiring diagram...that helps a lot. I found one really bad battery (only 4 volts). I didn't realize that the cart could run so good and quit all of a sudden because of one battery. Guess it shorted internally. Thanks for your help!
