2012 48v Club Car precedent
Howdy friends. I just picked up a new to me 2012 precedent in pretty amazing shape with good batteries. I've been an EZGO series cart guy but for $1500 bucks I jumped on it. That being said. I know nothing about club car carts. The previous owner had crashed the cart on the course but had the damages fixed. however, said that I needed to get the alignment done. I can see that the alignment is slightly off and i can take care of that but I cant help but think the steering is extremely stiff compared to my ezgo build. its a literal night and day difference. like I said I don't have any knowledge on club cars. Being a 10 year newer cart than anything I've built I'm a little lost. any thoughts on if you think the stiff steering is from the alignment? or is there something else I should be checking. tires are showing wear so I know alignments bad but I didn't think it'd cause the steering to be this tight. Or is this just new tech and i'm used to old stuff?

Re: 2012 48v Club Car precedent
Wow that's great buy. Don't understand how ppl find golf carts like that for $1500. I would buy golf carts like that all day long for that price. Around me that cart would be like 3k minimum even with crap batteries lol. Friend of mine sold his 13 precedent with 4 year old batteries for 4800. His had rims and back folding seat though.
As far as stiff steering that could be from worn out steering knuckles or possibly needing grease. They have grease fittings on all the suspension parts. My 92 ds has pretty stiff steering but nothing crazy. I actually tend to like a stiff steering wheel because it won't wandering when hitting bumps. Alignment likely doesn't have anything to do with stiff steering. Alignment will cause the cart to not drive straight and wear the tires uneven. Hard to tell from the picture but from what I can see it looks like your tires are brand new and wearing evenly. If u need to adjust alignment there is tons of info on how to do that on the forums. It's pretty straightforward to do alignment on club cars |
