Default Terrell differential with hydraulic brakes, any good?

Are the juice brakes more powerful than the cable jobs?
Is the diff strong?

TIA
Terry

What it is, is what I'm askin'
I found it today at recycling, as-is.
Value, in Dollars, is irrelevant.
Value as a good item to use, that's the query.
I just pulled the drums, all looks decent.
12:1 gearing, some sort of stub shaft for input, maybe was cut off?

It looks to me to be an old differential for discontinued cart. If it's in good working order and you need one it's priceless. If it was at my place, It would go back to the recycler

The Terrells were OK, the brakes always gave folks fits but I assume that was due to the master cylinders they used. The newer rear ends are a lot stronger though.

That one looks really complete, like it was pulled with purpose and not hacked out with a saw all or torch.

You thinking about going sparky on us???

Not just no, but HELL NO

The cables were cut, along with leaf mounting bolts, but it's hard to say why it ended up there. I've pulled a lot of odd out of there. NOS 1971 JLO sled mill, GM 14-bolt Tru Trac, engines galore, and the $50 1988 Marathon I'm building, outboards, chainsaws. I'm just poor white trash, so I make due with what I can afford.

I did a little Googling and BGW scanning, saw that it may be a rugged piece. Not sure what/why the input shaft sticking out is smooth, but I could write books about all the stuff I don't know.

Lol. Nah, Erie is the least great of the Great Lakes. I'm from the big cold one up top :)

Rear end itself looks OK, the older motors had an output splined shaft that slid into the rear end rather that a splined female coupling that slides over an input shaft.
