Titan Solenoid
New used '90 Titan 36V. Just died going down the driveway. Jumping across the large posts on the solenoid is the only way to get the motor to turn, What does that indicate is the problem? Also, seems odd that the solenoid is a 12V on a 36V cart. Is that normal?

Re: Titan Solenoid
Me again, second post ever. Is there any chance it could be the ignition switch? I am getting ohms at the switch that makes me think its operating correctly but should I get voltage as well? Any help from the brain trust here would be greatly appreciated. This old carpenter is not too keen on mechanical operations..... And until I get this thing fixed my wife is going to keep using my truck to run the horse feed route!!

Re: Titan Solenoid
Are you getting 12 volts on the 2 small posts on the solenoid when you push the go pedal ?

Re: Titan Solenoid
I am not familiar with this cart. However they all are basically the same. The key switch has incoming power typically from the solenoid HOT post if the key switch is good, the power will move downstream to either the controller or other devices, depends on the setup. Other INPUT are required to have solenoid activation. KSI, F&R, Throttle input, Charger interlok. However your 12v solenoid may have given it all for the cause.

Re: Titan Solenoid
Then something in your activation circuit has failed. Not sure where the titan gets its source of power from but try to find that then start going through the path to find out what is wrong. Like was stated you have a switch at the foot pedal, the key switch and the fnr.

Re: Titan Solenoid
Quick update for anyone wanting to know what not to do..
New switch installed, moved speed control and the wheels turned. then moved control back and applied it again. Switch burst into flames and is toast. All this while the key was in the off position... Going to find professional help. |
