delta quiq 4818 not charging
I have a western golf cart with a built in delta quiq charger model 4818. My cart is a 42 volt with 7 interstate batteries (2 MONTHS OLD). This is the way it came from the factory 16 years ago. It will not charge now, I checked the LED display on the charger and it was giving me a flashing amber light on the display with 1 line. I thought it might be the thermister as I did have to replace it once before ,but no luck,it did not work with a new one. My battery pack reading is 40.65 and all the batteries are about 5.85 volts. I don't know what my next step is or is it time for a new charger. Any help or ideas?

Re: delta quiq 4818 not charging
Your batteries are pretty, pretty low (20% SOC). Discharging below 50% will damage the batteries. The voltage is too low for the charger to kick in. Try with a standard 6/12v car charger, to bring them up individually and then start pack charging again.

Re: delta quiq 4818 not charging
I will charge the batteries 1 at a time and try to get it to charge with the onboard delta charger in the A.M. I have no idea how they got so low because I usually plug in the charger after use. I will keep you informed, Thanks

Re: delta quiq 4818 not charging
I'm up to 42.00 volts exactly abd it will still not start charging. I'll keep trying to get the voltage past th 50% mark and hope that will work. I think the charger should have started by now, But I will see.

Re: delta quiq 4818 not charging
I just stumbled about your charger model, 4818 is a 48v 18A charger, you batteries are 42v would be better to use a 42v charger?

Re: delta quiq 4818 not charging
This the charger that came with my western golf cart. I have been using this for 17 years. I understand that western programs this charger for 42 volts, anyway I am still charging these batteries with a car charger to get my voltage high enough for the delta charger to hopefully kick in. I will keep you informed.
