Re: Western Golf and Country cart-looking for year
Welcome Randy, I have two westerns as well. Post a photo if you can.
The first 3 numbers are the model of western that you have, the next 2 numbers are the month and year the cart was manufactured. Without a pick you could have a march of 1994, march 2004. But A pic would help. You can sometimes get a hold of western and they can help as well. I have spoken to them a couple times over the past year or so. They are called "lido motors" but they are western as well. They are still selling new carts to some places, including several dealers in South Florida. They were very expensive carts in their day, the new ones are getting $15,000+ for the top of the line model. |

Re: Western Golf and Country cart-looking for year
Looks like you have a 1993 Cart based on whats under the seat, pedals, steering wheel. Looks like an ego marathon frame. Best bet would be to try some California dealers to see if they have any parts cars or contact Lido motors (western). The tail lights are unique to western. The windshield may be available through a dealer out in California (Palm Springs area, they were made in desert hot springs which is just outside Palm Springs, CA. Hope this helps some, sorry I couldn't offer more.

Re: Western Golf and Country cart-looking for year
JR Thomas in Palm Springs area sells refurbished Western Golf Carts. Contact them at (760) 346-6789 and see how they may be able to help you. In addition, contact Lido Motors @ (760) 288-2337. Lido Motors apparently still builds newer models and if this phone number for them is still valid, they may be able to help. I am calling both of them tomorrow for an almost identical cart to yours except it has been upgraded to 48 volt. If you want to go faster with more power suggest you get a hold of Scotty B. on this site and give serious thought to take this cart up a few notches. My cart does just under 30 mph. I measure this with my 0 to 40 mph gps speedometer from Speed Hut, which is a very, very easy DIY intall.

Re: Western Golf and Country cart-looking for year
thats a western model 400. Get serial number on frame under seat or on the sticker under front trunk if yours was built as an LSV (low speed vehicle) from the factory. Just by the body could be late 90's or early 2000's. A pic of under the seat will help as well.

Re: Western Golf and Country cart-looking for year
I personally wouldn't buy it for $1400, because around here good brand batteries are going to be about $115 a piece. By the time you're done with tax on the batteries you're at $750. I don't see that being a $2100 cart in my area its only 36v. That is also assuming that it needs nothing else. Sitting for 3 years I would plan on a set of tires as well. Unless you really like the body I would keep looking unless carts are high priced in your area. I love westerns, but that particular model doesn't have the special car body, more of a normal cart body.
Looking at the photos again and hearing your description of the batteries position, I bet that cart sits on a late 90's 36volt ego txt frame. |
