Default 04 precedent lithium conversion??

Hello this is my first time posting here and I'm not super versed on lithium conversions. I have a 2004 club car precedent that needed new batteries so I decided to buy some cheaper drop in 12v lifep04 batteries off Amazon. My question is do I just remove the 4 lead acid batteries and wire the lithiums in the exact same way? Also can I charge them in series with clamp on style charge or should I use the factory charging port?

Thanks in advance

Here we go again. There are many threads here as to why 12v lithium is a bad choice. Here’s just one simple short one.

There are other reasons such as balancing to consider as well.

All of those answers depend on what batteries you have. I have not seen the drop in 12V from Amazon - but I would be concerned about their having the current capability you need AND you need a proper charger designed for those particular batteries!!!

I don't believe Amazon sell high current batteries as would be required for cart use, just the basic back-up power batteries.

Amazon takes returns on pretty much anything and everything with no questions asked.

I’d take advantage of that policy and research and rethink your upgrade.

Well I tried to search but for some reason the search function doesn't work with my phone. Either way I was asking how to series wire them properly and how to charge them. If they don't work I'll send them back no problem.

My cart has 4 12v batteries can I wire these lithium batteries in series the same way as the Trojans?

I will second this advice. It's not worth what you are trying to do when there are real options available to you; you don't need to reinvent the wheel. Lithium is awesome, but also dangerous; please pay attention and follow the advice of those on here that have "been there, done that".

Welcome to the page!

Those batteries may work but you need to get a proper charger designed for them!

You do need the correct charger. And I think the batteries themselves would work fine.

Your bigger challenge, and the challenge most people have with 4x12v lithium batteries is going to be keeping them balanced. And it doesn’t seem to be an immediate thing, it compounds and the longer you use them the more out of balance they will become and then you’ll have issues. May want to look into a good balancer now before it becomes problematic
