Default 6" Steeling Lift - Brake Bracket Interference - EZGO 2014+

Installing a Steeling 6" drop axle lift on a 2018 EZGO TXT48

When installing the rear 6" lift bracket between the rear axle and the leaf spring, the lift bracket hits the brake cable bracket. It's impossible to get the bolts in the bracket. Yes I have it facing the correct way per the instructions. (Ironically, if I mount it wrong, they fit) Is there something I'm missing? I could cut the Steeling bracket up, but I can't believe they send the kit out this bad.

Anybody deal with this before?

Sorry to resurrect this, but I'm currently encountering the same problem with a 2001 EZGO TXT and the same lift kit. The only way to get the rear lift blocks to fit is to put them on backwards. I suspect that this will result in the rear wheels moving forward and at least not looking good in the wheel well and maybe even rubbing(???). Of course I already have the whole front part of the lift done.

Did you ever figure out how to solve it?

Thanks.

Is your brake cable coming out the top or bottom of the backing plate?

I have a 2014 EZGO TXT that I am trying to finish lifting. Front end went fine. I get to the rear end and all the instructions and videos have the brake cable bracket on the bottom of the axle. I am having the same issue with it being in the way. Did you find a fix?

If your brake cables are coming out of the top of the backing plates, you have to switch your backing plates/brakes from side to side so they are coming out the bottom.
