Key Switch "ON" wire?
I'm doing the Eco battery conversion on my 2015 RXV. Its got a key switch with a plug, not studs, on the back (pictured). I want to use a Posi-Tap for the 12v converter, so the accessories are off unless the key is in the F position. Can anybody tell me which wire (A,B,C or D) would be the switched wire? Thanks!

Re: Key Switch "ON" wire?
Don't tap into the key switch, you could brick your controller. Get you power from the controller side of the solenoid. You will have power only when the key switch is on.

Re: Key Switch "ON" wire?
Okay, that's easy enough, Thanks! I may even just got to the positive post, the key feature was just a convenience/back up.
While that would expedite Phase 2 of my upgrade (Navitas)...have to wonder why multiple videos by pro installers talk about tapping the wire. *shrug* |

Re: Key Switch "ON" wire?
You did not mention "navitas" in your opening post! It may have been relevant to the answer you got.
Just go with power from the solenoid. You can always add a switch in line! |

Re: Key Switch "ON" wire?
Well, the Navitas is a winter project...maybe not even this winter, but next.
Already have a switch, and the 12v stuff has been on the positive post all along; but while everything is opened up, was looking at options. |

Re: Key Switch "ON" wire?
Ok, there is pack voltage on the controller side of the solenoid not 12v. If you use the controller side of the solenoid you need to run it into a dc-dc reducer to get you your 12v. Then out of the reducer into a fuse block to run all your accessories. On an RXV we here on the forum do not recommend tapping into the key switch period. Sorry I should have explained that a little better.
