Default Testing motor

I have a 2002 EZ-GO TXT 36-volt PDS cart. The controller was bad I had it rebuilt but before I installed it I wanted to test a few things and I downloaded a test procedure and it says the following:
All cables off motor
A1 to A2 should be .3 to 1 reading was 0
F1 to F2 should be 1 to 2 reading was 1.6
A1 to F1 should be open reading was open
F1 to motor case must read greater than 5M reading was 6M

everything tested in specs except for the very last entry which was F1 to motor case must read greater than 5 megaohms. Mine is reading 1.2 kilohms. Can someone please help me and explain what would cause this to be out of specs? Does it mean I need to replace the motor? Is there a simple fix for this? Please help and thank you in advance

Default Re: Testing motor

If everything is really disconnected, you should not read 1.2K from F1 to case. That indicates that something is partly connecting the field to the case. 1.2K isn't a short so it's probably corrosion or contamination somewhere between the field windings and the case. You could disassemble the motor and try to clean it and dry it and see if the field leakage to the case goes away. That is what I would try.
