Re: Programming Curtis Controller
I think that you need to start from the beginning and tell me what lead you have ( make ,model etc )...and how your connecting it all together.
Have you successfully connected via the 1314 program to a Curtis controller before? |

Re: Programming Curtis Controller
So ...a cheap blue USB - Serial lead that uses the CH320 Driver ...connected up as per the various pics on this thread to a 4 pin Molex plug.
It should now be just a case of plugging in the USB lead ... picking the relevant COMS Port number in the 1314 software .... this number is assigned to the USB lead by Windows ... the 1314 software requires that it is between 1 and 8 ..if it isn't then you must re-assign it a number between 1 and 8 yourself. Once you have the above sorted and the 1314 software recognises that there is a Serial COMS Port...it should be just a case of plugging the Molex into the Curtis controller , turning on the controller ...clicking Connect and waiting approx. 60 secs or less for everything to talk to one another. |

Re: Programming Curtis Controller
I suppose it depends on your definition of "bad"... if it's completely dead and shows no signs of life ( no flashing led ) then it's unlikely that you'll get any communication.

Re: Programming Curtis Controller
How are you powering up the bad controller?...a quick look at the 1244 manual suggests that you'll need your main power leads B+ & B - and a positive feed from B+ to the KSI pin ( key switch input ) ( pin 1 ).

Re: Programming Curtis Controller
COMS error ... that is going to be difficult for me to diagnose from here ... is your blue serial lead using a CH320 / 340 chip? ..if it's using a PL2303 chip then it might not work ( they never have for me ).
I'm assuming that the 1314 software happily finds the COMS Port that the USB lead is assigned? |
