Since I can't find the correct mikuni 45 degree adapter, here's what I came up with. Seems to fit good. It's a little taller than I'd like, but it fits.

With the enrichment valve on, it fires right up and idles high. Without it, it will die. I have the pilot air screw over 3 turns out and it won't run, so looks like I need a larger pilot jet or two. With the enrichment on, it revs out really well and sounds super mean! The rev does hang a bit, so I'm betting I'm lean on the main too. I'm going to go ahead and order a carb rebuild kit and some extra jets tonight so I can play around with it this weekend.

Nice set up. Just note that you have to use fuel resistant hose not something like coolant type hose or the gasoline will dissolve it.

Got the Mikuni mocked up and running. Still sits about 2-3" too high. I had to angle the carb toward the front to clear the body cross support. I really need to find the correct carb adapter, but for now it's working well. Got the throttle cable and choke cable hooked up and they work nice and smooth. The Uni filter fits perfectly.

Moderators, how do I correct the angle of the pics?

Here's a video. The engine won't start without the enrichment unless I open the throttle. This tells me the pilot jet is still too small. The stock size is a 40, I jumped up to the 50 and it still won't start and idle, even with the idle air screw adjusted. So I have some smaller sizes that I can drill out, see how that works. I can get up to a size 60 I believe.

With that said, the main circuit seems to be very close and it revs very quickly and smoothly. In the video the revs reach 5000 rpm at the highest point, and it would continue if I keep the throttle open. I don't see any black smoke. I might try to jet it again and see how that acts, but not until I get the pilot jet right.

I'm very very pleased with how the carb performs. I took it for a test ride and the power was excellent. If I'm just coasting along and punch it, it will peel grass at will. The differential seems to switch sides on the peel marks, so I'm wanting to get a locker. I might have to upgrade the rear axle to do so. Anyone want to buy a good G9 transaxle?
