I had the same thing happen to me today. Is there anyway to fix it without using a welder? The stud just spins when I try to turn the nut. I also have no threads above the remaining nut.

The stud spinning around presents another problem.

Is the broken stud in the aluminum end cap?. Or in the metal case? If it's in the aluminum end cap. You can buy a brush kit and you can fix it your self

Oh, a new brush set typically has those terminals included, if it's the "A" terminal. but the others don't look good either. Best bet might be a different motor. Post a pic of your axle, if it takes the common Dana axle, there are many motors (stock or upgrade) that will bolt up fine.

Sh!t....I did it too. Plus one of the long skinny bolts that hold the housing together. Thoughts? 48v club car ds.

What brand motor? If its GE, I have a ton of those long bolts, PM me. (Yes, I save everything)

Post a pic of the motor, & the length of the not-broken bolt. I have a coffee can full of those.
