suspension
Hi all, do I need to upgrade anything in the suspension or the like to accommodate a backseat and passengers?
Thanks |

Re: suspension
Most add heavy duty leaf springs to accommodate the extra weight.

Thanks LostHusker.
How about those of you with stock suspension? Are you ok with a backseat and passengers? How is the handling? |

Re: suspension
Very squirrelly handling with passengers on the rear seat of my Yamaha Drive after installing 3" lift...UNTIL I put on Jake's HD rear coils...fun (and safe) to drive again.

Re: suspension
Yep, pretty much unsafe with 4 passengers & stock springs IMO. The stock monoleaf springs are prone to breakage when worn out, which will happen sooner with the increased load.

Re: suspension
I did a quick 'n easy fix for my rear seat passengers and suspension. I took the rear seat off and replaced it with a piece of very rough plywood. Of course, I did paint the plywood green to match the forest. However, nobody wants to ride and get splinters.
And BTW....I'm all good with that. |

Two things: #1--If I put diamond plate on, people will want to sit on it. #2--If I put diamond plate on it, when I put my hunting chair on it....when it's 30 degrees and it starts that freezing rain....I'm going to be the one who slides.........off the back of the cart.....down the hill.....and over the ledge. ......And my cell phone will be in the cup holder by the propane heater!!! No diamond plate for me!! Dave |

Re: suspension
Or you'll sit down on it on a 90+ degree day & you'll have diamond plate pattern branded on your arse
