By your cart moving, and going slower in reverse, your microswitches on your forward/reverse selector are working correctly.
Thank you for the reply.
When I took the motor off I only removed the 4 cables to the motor (which I labeled) and the (+) battery cable, so other than those 5 cables I didn't take any other wires off and never touched the controller. I have looked to see if a wire broke or pulled out of the FNR but I can't find anything that looks wrong.

Somewhere I read that the Alltrax controller has nothing to do with this forward and reverse issue, is that correct? I have not even looked at it.

I did remove the rear body so I had to remove the charging port and the FNR but the wires were never removed.

Here's the big question nobody has asked. Did you disconnect the batteries when you disconnected your motor and did you make any sparks?

I did have the battery disconnected when removing the motor.... HOWEVER, while I was waiting for the differential to get here I did battery maintenance and put the 48v battery charger on (the 4 motor cables were not hooked up) and the charger sparked. Since then the charger has worked and I forgot about it. Could that have done it?

ON a series cart, this is always that the motor is incorrectly wired, or the reverse power cable to the FnR is on the wrong battery. Occasionally it's a damaged cable or corroded connection.

Double check the cables on the motor and where they match up to on the FnR.
There are about 5 different ways the cables can be connected on the motor and FnR and it still work, but if any of them are out of order it will do strange things.
NO Forward or reverse, or part of one direction or the other.
Old series carts don't give much of a $h... about sparks. The capacitors in the charger caused that by sucking some energy when it was connected, but that won't cause your issue.

I like this reply... simple solution for a simple guy.
Gotta be one of the 4 terminals on the motor.

I think it was a loose nut behind the wheel.

I suppose Fairtax4me is real close about a "loose nut" behind the wheel.

I had A1 and S1 reversed.

By him simply telling me it had to be one of the four wires going to the motor I had it fixed before the sun came up.

ScottyB, remember when I told you 6-7 years ago I couldn't read a schematic after buying the C-54 conversion from you?

Well, I STILL CAN'T But I like my old cart and I don't want a new one. There's an 85' T/A out in the garage too and that ain't going anywhere either.
