Default Lithiums with different voltage in series.

If I start with a 36v cart with a 36v 100ah battery and decide to upgrade later can a 12v 100ah be added in series to get to 48v?
I’m thinking no.

Lithium batteries in series are a bad idea, different lithium batteries in series are an even worse idea. You will be forever chasing your tail trying to balance that setup. Better off doing the 48v upgrade before changing to lithium. Then you can get a true 48v battery.

That is what I thought. I am not even sure a cart will fit my needs so I am trying to easy into this thing. Bottom line is I’ve got to have new batteries one way or the other.
