2006 gas club car precedent-motor won't turn over
I have checked out the solenoid, it was checked out at my local shop, they said it was good. I turn the key on and push the gas pedal, the solenoid clicks but won't turn over the motor. what else can I check?

Re: 2006 gas club car precedent-motor won't turn over
Before you let anyone sell you anything, do these tests.
The starting circuit in a cart is very basic and simple. It is made up of two circuits, a low amp and a high amp circuit. When you push the gas pedal, A 12volt, low amps circuit is completed and supplies power to the two small posts on the solenoid. Power to the solenoid completes the large amp circuit which consists of the Battery, Battery cables, solenoid (large post to large post), and starter/generator. To test, first determine you have a good battery, don't assume. next, remove the two small wires from the small posts on the solenoid, jumper from the pos and neg of the battery to the two small posts, doesn't matter which wire goes where because the solenoid is not internally grounded. If the starter spins you have a problem in your low amp circuit like, bad fuse, key switch, wire connection, microswitch, etc. Follow the wire diagram from part to part with your VOM to trouble shoot If it doesn't spin, you have a problem in your large amp circuit like, dead battery, bad positive or ground cable, cable connection, solenoid, starter/generator. First, use a set of jumper cables and put black clamps on neg battery and engine to test oem ground cable. If it spins, you have a bad ground connection, To check the solenoid, jumper across the large posts, if the starter spins the solenoid is bad, even if it "clicked" with the two small wire test. If it doesn't spin you have a bad positive cable, cable connection, or starter/generator. See, sounds like alot but very simple. |

Just wanted to thank everyone!!! After testing out all the circuits, I found the starter/alt. was not working. Replaced and my kids are back on the go again!!!
