Default club car moves an inch and then stops

I have been using this forum for a little while now and there is no better site for the diy golf guy. Thanks to all for the wealth of knowledge shared here everyday. I am working on a 01 DS 48 volt cart. The batteries are fully charged and showing a pack charge of 52 volts. I have checked each battery individually and each shows between 8.5 and 8.7 volts. When I press the pedal, it rolls about and inch, in forward and reverse, and then nothing. The full battery charge, 52 volts, does not change as i depress the pedal. Any suggestions?

I'm guessing this is a series cart? Series carts will have the Lever Operated F&R switch and will NOT have a Tow/Run switch under the seat. Post the vehicle serial number if you're unsure.

Make a jumper wire about 3 feet long with alligator clips on both ends. Clip one end to the small solenoid post (NOT LARGE) that has the small yellow wire attached to it. Clip the other end to the MAIN negative battery post. This is the battery post that has the black wire connected to it that runs through the hole in the on-board computer. With the jumper in place, let me know if the cart will operate when you try to drive it.

Yes it does. Does this mean the solenoid is bad?

No. It means the on-board computer is bad. 101909901 is the replacement part number for your 2001 series cart.

Or perhaps consider a charger that does not require an OBC.
The DPI Accusense doesn't require an OBC and should only cost you about $100 more than a new OBC.
The DPI has a float mode that will keep your batteries at 100% all of the time.

Tahoe, I’m having the same issue but when I run this test it does not solve the issue. What would be my next test?

The next step would be to make sure your golf cart is charged up with enough voltage to make it run, and grab your multimeter. Call me at 706-431-3917 and we'll run some tests.
