Default Roypow Packs

I am looking to potentially buy 2 used verified working roypow 48v 105ah packs.

Possibly will install one in my golf cart and break the other down for some portable power packs.

For people who have had these open can you tell me how the cells are connected? Welded, Soldered, Screwed?

Nevermind found my answer. Looks like they are welded.

Are you able to work with cells that are welded together?

From the photos I have seen its two 24v packs so you can somewhat without a welder. If you have a cell welder obviously the opportunities are endless but I do not.

Fortunately for me the application I am looking for a pack to harvest for requires 24v so I can just split the pack.

That pack looks neatly done and well built. For mods, I would much prefer removable fasteners but welding is probablyl most reliable. The battery posts are probably threaded under those welds.

My brother does dock and boatlift install services with a barge.

Part of that job is running the lifts up and down and some lifts are 12v some are 24v. So we are building a version two of a pack I already made him to achieve the task.

In version 1 we used two 12v batteries and wired it to a high amperage selector to determine what pack output was.

In version 2 I want to run a high amperage voltage reducer from 12v to 24v and run a different connector on the box to make a cleaner more compact build.

Some photos of his barge doing barge stuff for your enjoyment.

So when looking for a battery that is able to be repaired it's wise to avoid ones with welded contacts. Good to know.

Ah that's way cooler than a walkie in a warehouse. Makes sense too, thanks for sharing.

I did gasp when I saw the excavator on there, precarious work. But you had the pontoon escort carrier armed and equipped! Jet skis stay back!

Haha would not be the 1st time he has hauled one. If you look up JJ Barge Service on FB he has pictures of all kinds of equipment he has hauled with it.

He went to school for carpentry so there is a big market up here for building houses on remote islands so between putting docks and lifts in the water and taking them back out he has alot of large building projects on remote lake islands that he does.
