![]() Picked up a 02 carryall 2. Been rotting away for years. Well today I was driving it up and down the road! Smoke was bad, cleared up, rev limiter disconnected. I floored it for a second after driving it around for a good bit.....awful noise and won’t go in gear. I now have the awful noise and kind of wants to go in gear. I have a video that if not seen in this post, will be shortly coming soon. How bad is it? And what the heck is it?

![]() Sounds like a busted link rod.
I see an ACR sticker. Is that an FE350 motor? If it is. She’s broked. And she’s gonna be $$$$ to fix. |

![]() Thats not what I wanted to hear. I also don't plan on paying anyone to work on it. Repairable? Anything I can do to diagnose what is actually wrong before I tear into a rear end.

![]() And not clear of what a link rod is that you are referring to. This clicking/slipping issue I have feels to me like a drive train issue not an internal engine issue. It was a no go in the driveway, and eventually started grabbing enough to move the cart. Thats where I am now. Sounds awful though.

![]() remove the belt and spin the engine (not fast, but enough to start it) and see if the noise is still there.
To me it sounds like it's in the motor as well. |

![]() Good idea. Funny how freak out/bummed out mode from a failure make one forget about simple procedures to determine things....REALLY appreciate all the help.

![]() just don't spin the motor up real fast. not good for the clutch to run it without a belt, but in this case would be good for troubleshooting.
