New Brake Shoes Problem
On our 2002 remanufactured Club Car, I replaced the shoes about 6 months ago and the only part of the lining that was worn was the lower 1/4 of the lining, which was warn through to the steel. The upper part of the lining looked like it had never touched the drum. I pulled the wheel off today and the same thing is happening. I'm not sure if new drums were installed during the remanufacturing or if the drums I got were old, or maybe had been turned. to a larger diameter
Seems I remember that on automobiles, there was an adjustment to compensate for this and to center the shoes inside the drum so to get even contact all around, but no adjustment I could find on our cart. I'm thinking that the inside diameter of the drum is larger then the outside diameter of the shoes and the shoe assembly can't be adjusted to fit properly ? ? Would new drums fix this problem ? Thanks |

Re: New Brake Shoes Problem
It is common, and normal, for only the front bottom of the shoes to wear. Think of it this way, the original shoes were close to 6 years old, the new ones will last the same.
