2009 YDRE jumping, or jerking

Hey guys,
I'm working with an 09 ydre and I rarely work on yamahas that are this new.

The issue is when you put your foot on the accelerator the cart "jumps" "jerks" or "lurches" and keeps doing it, it does not go away with speed.

Sometimes you will press the pedal and will get nothing until you rock back and forth, then it will do its jumping and jerking act, which leads me to believe its a motor or speed sensor issue. I pulled the sensor and it has no obvious signs of failure and the cart still beeps for walk away.

The cart did not run, we installed brand new batteries, and discovered this issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Motor, bad brushes or wasted motor.

I had the same issue on a G8. It was a bad motor, and the jerking blew the controller and damaged the rear end gear box.

It’s been a mess trying to get it recovered now... I hope yours isn’t the same.

Thanks guys! I drove it and after listening to it again I was leaning to motor. This solidifies my diagnosis. Thanks again!

I also hope it didnt trash the cotroller! I was very easy on it and that end seemed to function normally.

Mine functioned ok but had no power at all and went into thermal shutdown every few minutes. But keep in mind mine was also a ‘93, so yours should be fine.
