Re: Star Car Issues
Not sure what to check regarding this. Just the connections on the controller or could the switch under the seat be bad?

Re: Star Car Issues
Yes. .. Do you have a owners manual on the cart.. That's we're I found the wire diagram for the cart.. It says that the run away circuit will apply the brakes if one of the switches are un made ( brake or the seat switch) and depends how fast the cart is going is to how much brake is apply from the controller ...

Omron Snap Action Switch that is turned on/off by the Brake Pedal. Should be right underneath driver floor. You can get on eBay direct from China for $9. I have a Star - I wish I didn't...

Re: Star Car Issues
bedbug, did you have a similar issue with the cart cutting off or braking suddenly when going over bumps? I put the cart up for a while because I couldn't figure it out. Just got it back out again and am trying to figure this out. I just saw your response.
Thanks! |

Re: Star Car Issues
Common source of this problem is a terrible one! Disconnect a battery cable, Unbolt motor controller plate, lift plate up, look on bottom of plate for evidence (black marks) of motor terminals shorting out on bottom of plate. Also look at motor terminals for evidence of arcing. YES, REALLY! THEY ARE THAT POORLY DESIGNED! I have replaced several controllers killed by direct short on bottom of plate. Motor can be unbloted, and turned toward front, re bolted to point terminals away from plate.
I AM SO GLAD WE DONT CARRY STAR CAR LINE ANY MORE, THEYRE TERRIBLE! |

Re: Star Car Issues
cgtech: I finally had a chance to look under the controller plate and did not see any evidence of arching. Anything else you can think of that might be causing this problem? I've checked everything I can think of.
Thanks! |
