1998 Club Car DS with 48V Regen system, power sometimes shuts off, no click on, etc
Hello all
I have been reading this forum for a bit now trying to find information on how to solve the problem with this cart, solenoid no click on problem. It also has a lift kit with larger knobby tires. Why did we wait so long to do this kit.... I have since replaced both solenoids with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073VJPS6J/ I put back on the coil resistor on the 2nd regen solenoid. The 1st solenoid did not have a resistor to begin with, so I do not have it on currently. Also, I do not think this one had a diode either. The solenoid problems I was having are largely fixed. But the car will still sometimes not "click" and go, and I have to switch the tow/run switch to get the solenoids to click. I have read it needs a solenoid resistor to pre-charge the controller capacitors or something... I have also read of a solenoid inductor back voltage when letting off the pedal, which a diode across the solenoid remedies... Before I jack this thing up again and try something new to troubleshoot... anyone have any ideas? Thanks BTW here are some diagrams I found online: https://golfcartpartsdirect.com/Category/526 |
