Ignition key
Anyone know of any dealers that have the ignition/Key available not the one that lets everyone who owns a Icon drive them. One that replaces the factory one

Re: Ignition key
Icon of Bluffton SC offers the unique key as an option on their new units. They have 3 locations and only sell Icon.

Re: Ignition key
as far as I know, none offer "unique keys". At best we have "uncommon" which certainly makes things harder but not impossible to just come up and drive away your cart.

Ive read others have changed it to a unique key. I have my local dealer looking into it and I have some other contacts I need to call

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ignition+...-largepack_1_3 My garage is under construction until maybe Jan 2022, otherwise I'd pull things apart and figure it out. I do have a local locksmith I wanted to see if I could just bring the existing lock in and get it rekeyed to a different one. If anyone does this method, I'd be curious. I would actually ask the locksmith if he can use my existing ICON key and just put an extra notch somewhere in the key so it would make other keys incompatible. I think that would suffice for security. |

Re: Ignition key
My new I40 with the dealer installed Unique key (2 keys) was delivered today. As I mentiond earlier, Icon of Bluffton, SC offers this option. I don't know if they will sell the keyswitch as a stand alone part but the delivery driver did say they had a box full at the shop. They are extrememly busy and may take awhile to get back to you.
