How to configure 13 gen charger from gel to lead acid

2013 gem 72 volt. Had gel batteries and customer switching to lead acid. Has the stock yellow charger. If they change to lead acid, do I need to do anything with the charger to make it charge lead acid batteries or will it just charge the same? Batteries are expensive and I want to make sure their batteries are going to charge properly. Thanks for any input.

I'm no expert but gel and lead acid are basically the same technology, I wouldn't be very
concerned about the charger. Just keep an eye on the water level.

Scott when say “gel” do you truly mean gel or agm. The Gem wasnt standard aith gel and not many folks used gel in carts. The charger alrgorithms are different between the battery types as those batteries all charge with different phase currents and times. Some are even different within each brand depending on which charger.

So for a best answer, which model charger is in the cart and what model battery going from and to?
