It appears that the secondary has one of those stiffer aftermarket springs. Also a pic is needed showing the area between the trans axles and the secondary clutch to see if the clip or spacer is gone.

Is this what your looking for? I’ll take some more tonight hopefully.

I bought the cart not running so I have no clue what’s aftermarket vs stock. Thanks again

Jakes has a video on youtube showing the install of their yamaha G22 secondary power kit. It shows the part assemblies in detail. The spacer can be bought alone and is a real transaxle saver.

Found the clip intact. I saw those spacers before and will get one coming for when I remove the clutch.

I did want to add I adjusted the motor forward a tiny bit and still have a loose belt but not like before.

I think the excessively loud exhaust made me think I was going a lot higher rpm than I was. I made a spirited run and it was a lot quicker than before. I think once I get a muffler on it, it will not be as much of an issue.

If that has a white aftermarket HD spring in it, I'd definitely get rid of that and use a stock spring. While you have it apart, take a close look at the sheave faces for "dishing" and wear marks, they can make the clutch feel notch.

Another must is a tachometer so you will know what rpm you are operating at. That will help us understand how your clutches are working. With the setup you have you should be reaching 20+ mph without an issue.

Also be aware with a stock spring that has the tangs on it you can alter the settings for the type of driving you do. IE Mine is set a B 1 for lower rpm shift over. With an engine swap you generally want to get the most out of your rpms because you have plenty of torque. Vegascarts really recommends using the stock spring.

Where’s the best place to get a stock equivalent spring? I do remember seeing that in the install instructions. Until y’all pointed it out I didn’t know it wasn’t stock.

#90508-45844 is $48 for and OEM unit from partzilla.com. Some of the E Bay units are $20. Cannot say about the quality of the E bay unit. You might want to check what Don Plowman a sponsor here has also.

Don Plowman @ Plowman's Carts is a Yamaha specialist. His parts are tried and true and I'd trust what he sells. I've used many of his parts in the past. He has a line of clutch springs, give him a call and he'll ask you all the necessary questions to get you what you need. Highly recommend!

Thanks again for all the help! I’ll reach out to him.
