Default Changing out cord on Powerwise Charger

Would like to change the DC cord out on a powerwise charger (36v) and use on a Club Car with a crowfoot (two prong) type receptical. The question I have is what do I do with the small red wire that is in the powerwise DC cord. It seems to connect to the negative side of the DC cord and was wondering if I can connect in inside to the negative side of the crowfoot cord inside the charger.

Person has the charger and the crowfoot cable to fit the clubcar. Could buy the receptical and make it easy but would like to know if we can make this work without spending any more money.

Thanks

Yes you can with a little work, the receptacle for that plug is expensive.
You will need to make one additional wiring change inside the charger...

I simply put a crows foot plug on the Ezgo cord ~ that was the least expensive conversion... here is what I found:

Disconnect small red wire in the cord.
Cord white connects to fuse inside charger.
Cord Black connects to Transformer white/grays on top Plus the small black wire from the control panel connects here as well so in all 4 wires make this connection.
Thats it.

Scotty

So inside the charger do you disconnect the small red wire and not use it at all? I may be misunderstanding however, I didn't see in the post what to do with the small red wire at the charger.

The DC cord he has is with the crows foot that is fixed to the cord so, I am good with wiring it with the crowfoot cord if I understand what to do with the small red wire.

Thank you

So what is the red wire do? I noticed that it makes contact on the negative side of the original powerwise plug. I also noticed that when you take the cover off the charger that their is a disconnect for the small red wire and want to be sure when putting the crowfoot (2 spade) type DC cord together that the red wire is not used at all.

I know im asking allot of questions but would like to make sure.

If the red wire is not needed and doesn't effect the charger performance, no problem.

Thanks

Hey Scotty B I want to make sure I am correct on the small red wire. Don't use it on the crowfoot end that will plug into the cart however, do you disconnect at the charger? What does the small red wire do anyway.

Thank you
